Bob Cannard has been using powdered volcanic rock for over 30 years to increase the vitality of the soil. Properly applied, powdered volcanic rock increases mineral balance in the soil, providing a richer and more balanced environment for plant cultivation. Our volcanic rock powder is ground to a superfine 2000 mesh, permitting the minerals it contains to be easily assimilated into the environment to which it is applied, and readily absorbed by plants in the area in which it is spread.

Mineral Details:
Our volcanic rock is mined in Nevada, and contains a noncrystallized balance of minerals, which are readily absorbed by organic systems. The rapid cooling and oxidation of magma upon its forceful evacuation from the volcano prevents mineral crystallization, which would render the minerals in the rock indigestible to life forms. The magma, noncrystallized in its molten form, emerges almost unchanged, and is thus nutrituonally useful. The large number of minerals contained in this rock powder provides for a healthy mineral balance.

Benefits of increased mineral balance:
Rock powder is used in the garden to increase mineral balance of the soil, which insures that any crop to which the rock is applied will receive more of the mineral food that it requires in order to flourish. In effect, the use of rock powder helps give the plant a healthy, balanced diet.

Proper application of volcanic rock powder:
Rock powder should be lightly dusted on the leaves of the plant, and on the soil around it. Apply it sparingly; for young plants, a small pinch or two of powder is sufficient. For larger plants, use a correspondingly larger amount, but just enough to obtain a light coating of powder on the leaves and the soil.

Prices:
Volcanic rock powder is available at Green String Farm for $7.00 per 10 lb. bag. For larger quantities, please contact us for pricing.
